Masonry & Stonework Services for Launceston, Cornwall & Devon

Local stone gives Cornish and Devon builds their character—and well-laid stone keeps them standing for centuries. From our base near Launceston, we specialise in traditional and modern masonry with a focus on hand-crafted stonework and dry-stone walling.

Stonework & dry-stone walling

  • New garden or boundary walls built without mortar, locking each stone for natural strength

  • Feature walls, quoins and lintels carved and set to accent extensions and new builds

  • Retaining walls and terraces that blend into the landscape while managing ground levels

  • Repairs and partial rebuilds of historic dry-stone structures using reclaimed stone and lime pointing

General masonry

  • Brick and block foundations, load-bearing walls and chimneys

  • Lime mortar repointing and conservation work on listed cottages and barns

  • Sand-cement or K Rend renders to protect exposed masonry where a breathable finish is not required

  • Stone cladding and facing to give modern structures a timeless façade

Our approach

  • Local materials first. Whenever possible we source slate, granite or sandstone from Cornish and Devon quarries to match existing fabric.

  • Heritage skills. All lime mixes follow traditional ratios; dry-stone courses are built to established batter and bonding rules.

  • Solid prep. Footings, drainage and geotextile membranes are installed to prevent movement and moisture problems down the line.

  • Clean, considerate sites. Stone is cut with water-fed saws to reduce dust, and waste is sorted for recycling or reuse.

Whether you need a new dry-stone boundary, a heritage wall conserved, or a block-and-stone shell for an extension, our masons deliver durable craftsmanship that looks right and lasts. Contact us to arrange a site visit anywhere in Launceston, Bodmin, Bude, Tavistock and the surrounding villages.
